Fez

Fez is the second largest city of Morocco after Casablanca , population 1.1 million, situated to the northeast of the Atlas Mountains, 128 miles from Tangier and 153 miles from Casablanca.
Fez was founded under the Idrisid rule during the 8th - 9th century. Fez was the capital of Morocco until 1925 then Rabat has remained the capital ever since, even after independence in 1955.
The medina of Fez is believed to be one of the world's largest urban pedestrian zones and has the oldest continuously functioning university founded in 859.

The weather has changed and its nippy with rain the last few days. The Riad is in the medina and had to park the car outside again and hike in. The alleyways are tight and lots of people and chaos just like the rest of them but we hiked around to the tannery and university and numerous other souks.
We got rained out the following day and luckily our room was large and was able to kick back there where we eat and the food was a joke, breakfast and dinner.
